UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, called on all countries to come with concrete solutions to the Climate Ambition Summit, which he organises on 23 September 2019 in New York.

In particular, at the Summit countries should:

– present concrete, realistic plans that are compatible with the latest IPCC Special Report on global warming of 1.5°C;
– enhance their NDCs by 2020;
– reduce GHG emissions by 45% over the next decade, and to net zero by 2050.

Climate Transparency provides concrete country recommendations for more climate action to stimulate the national debate. The recommendations build on the findings of the Brown to Green Report, which provides the most comprehensive and concise information about climate action in the G20 countries in a comparable form.
