Inputs by Katia Simeonova (UNFCCC process), Ragnhild Pieper (trends media coverage on climate), Pascal Charriau (global energy trends) and Sandhya Srinivasan (climate finance and carbon markets) described the external environment in which Climate Transparency is operating. All partners discussed strategic questions in four groups via World Café.The second part of the day has been devoted to the debate on indicators for this year’s edition of the Brown to Green Report, which will be published in November 2019. Key discussion topics included rating methods, 1.5°C benchmarks, equity considerations of the data of the Climate Action Tracker, the further development of a sectoral mitigation policy rating and just transition.

On the last day, partners discussed the development of new adaptation and finance indicators as well as new suggestions for the front page of the 20 country profiles of the Brown to Green Report. The afternoon session has been devoted to communication activities of Climate Transparency in 2019 as well as its contribution to the UN Secretary General Summit in New York in September 2019.

Participants welcomed fruitful discussions and big engagement presented from all partners during the workshop.
